For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Why we give.
God is generous and so he calls us to be as well. What we do with what God has given us shows the world where our hearts are at and helps proclaim the gospel. We want to glorify God with every area of our lives, and that includes what we do with our finances.

1 Corinthians 16:2 says "On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper..." Again, the apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians 9:6-7, "But I say this: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver."
The collection taken up on Sundays in addition with any that might be given at other times, is overseen by the elders of the Coweta church of Christ and only used for scriptural works such as spreading the Gospel, taking care of church business, and helping the saints.
